I was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and now make my home in Hot Springs National Park.
After receiving my B.A in Fine Arts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1980, I put my painting on hold to raise my daughter.
I began creating at a very young age and don't feel fully alive unless I have at least two or three projects before me.
In 1985, I was asked to "draw a pretty picture of a house" for a builder whose client was having trouble visualizing two dimensional plans. I said "Why sure." But I soon learned that in order to do that I needed to understand how to arrive at the correct representation of such things as wall heights, window placement, roof pitch.....and on ...and on...and before I knew it...I was designing and drawing full sets of house plans. I worked like every other draftsman..with drafting table and a T-Square. Until the latter part of the 80’s, I became one of the first draftsmen in Arkansas to leave the manual drafting board and T-square behind to begin learning and using autocad... computer aided design. I felt it was a necessary move to keep learning and growing with the “times” . In 1995, after ten years of residential design,I put my computer away and began using my creative energy in my personal life...learning everything from floral design to "spoon bending!".
Now thirty years later, with encouragement from my daughter and friends, I am sharing my art with the public. I believe art is very personal and observed closely can reflect many aspects of an artists interior experience. Currently, my art is bold and colorful which I believe “is a result of positive energy, love, and wisdom that comes from just " living and learning and learning from living.”
